VIDEO MEDIA | BRANDING + UIUX DESIGN + APP | 2020-NOW
In Indonesia, it has an internet penetration rate of only ~50 percent, lower than many countries in Asia Pacific. Everyone wants to have the modern digital experience and consume gigabytes per day, but majority Indonesian can’t afford to the price. Migo is a distribution platform that bridges unmet mass market demand and the growing supply of digital services, enabling consumers to conveniently access premium content for 1/100th the cost of traditional telco distribution and connecting them with existing digital services brands. Being said, Migo is not another Netflix or HBO GO but Migo offers offline watching service that provides contents for the mass market in Indonesian. It is a new window to the world for Indonesian.
In a team of three designers, I'm responsible for establishing and maintaining APP design guideline, user experience, and user testings.
ONBOARDING EXPERIENCE
Unlike other digital services, Migo is a new concept and a new gateway to access to digital video contents. The biggest challenge for onboarding is let users understand that they need to visit Migo store to download videos to their phone. Therefore, for onboarding experience, we not only having introduction page but also include coach marks for first timers for the main service flow.
MIGO PASS
When I first joined Migo, users are able to download and watch videos for free on Migo APP. However, because of business strategy changed, we decided to develop new feature - Migo Pass. For this feature, users is able to buy different kinds of watching pass with cash at Migo stores.
PERSONALIZATION
While Migo content is consistently increasing every week, personalization and customization is important for users to find what they might like to watch. For business strategy, we also want users to stay on Migo APP as long as they can, so we can increase the percentage for users to come back to Migo. As a result, I designed content preference flow to help data analysis push more relevant contents for users to watch.
FINDING MIGO STORE
What makes Migo different is that we provide service for users to download video at physical stores; therefore, it is very important for users to understand how to use our service. As we find from user testings that many people did not get the concept of going to Migo Store (Warung) download videos, we decided to include Warung tab at bottom navigation to attract user's attention once they installed Migo.
MIGO REWARDS
Migo rewards is in account tab for users to earn points by watching films. The purpose of this is to increase the watching rate and form watching habit. Marketing sales also use this feature for promoting events.
